Dollhouse of cards.

Alright, I have been slacking, so it will probably be a long one tonight.

First, you may not have heard, but Joss Whedon, the mastermind behind such masterpieces as Buffy, Angel, Firefly, and Dr. Horrible, has a new show out called Dollhouse. I gotta admit, I am disappointed. Not with the show itself, but with what people have been saying about it. It has been recieving.... less than stellar reviews, and all I gotta say about that is, Stop It! Ok, I will be the first to admit that it's not Joss' best work, but it is still a Joss Whedon show! We haven't had a Joss show since Firefly ended (far, far too early) in 2003, and I for one do not want to see the same thing happen to Dollhouse. If Dollhouse is cancelled after one season, I am holding Tycho Brahe personally responisble.

Moving on to classic gaming corner, I recently had the urge to go and play The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Unfortinatly, I could not locate my SNES. Fortinatly, LTTP is available on the VC, so I snatched it up eagerly. The game is amazing, truly what Zelda is all about. If you are one of those youngins who have only played Zelda from the N64 on, you definatly need to go back and play LTTP and the GB ones.

And lastly, the new car saga is near completion. I have decided on an electric blue, 2009, Mazda3 sedan with the comfort package. So, the deposite has been made, the financing has been approved, and if there are no problems I should be able to pick up my brand, shiney new car in a day or two. And, just for memes sake, my excitment levels are over 9000!!!

So, that should be just about it for tonight. I am now going to go finish watching Craig, (speaking of late night shows, Jimmy Fallon seems to be extremely nervous about his first show.) and then off to bed so I can wake up early in order to test blood alcohol levels or some such nonsense.

GoldThane, signing off.

Time Keeps on slippin' into the future.

Wow, it's Tuesday already, where does the time go?

So, PTR is up! Nothing really interesting to say about it, since I play a prot warrior and there are no changes for me yet, cept for the dual spec system implementation I suppose. Oh well, hopefully we will get some loving in the upcoming builds.

This just in, concert news!

Rise Against! Coheadlining with Rancid! oh wow, that sounds like a good show
June 4th, pacific Coliseum, tix go on sale this friday!

Chris Cornell, The Commedor Ballroom, April 28. Tix also on sale this friday.

I gotta say that I am surprised to see Rise Against on tour again so soon, seems like only a couple months ago they played at Thunderbird Arena promoting Appeal to Reason. I have seen them...3 times i think now, and they put on a great show each time.

I am undecided weather or not to go to the Chris Cornell show. If he was doing the kind og unplugged show he did in sweden, I'd definatly be there. But for this, well I will have to see if any of my friends wanna go, and then decide.

Well, that's it for tonight, I am gunna go grab a few hours of sleep since I gotta be at work at 7 in the morning.

Until next time, faithful followers.

Car Searching Update

So I went out to look at a variety of cars today, and my current list of top cars is:

Mazda3
Toyota Yaris
PT Cruiser
Nissan Versa

The one dealership I didn't manage to get to today was Hyundai (since they were closed). It also happens to be the one with the best deals, so my list will possible change if I get a chance to get into the Hyundai place.
This of course is all very exciting.
You cannot see it, but I am making my exciting face.
okay, not really.

Until tomorow faithful followers!

Ho Hum.

Slow news day.

Patch 3.1 is growing ever closer, PTR transfers have gone up. Not too much longer to wait until dual specs and Ulduar, so that's good.

Might be buying a new car soon. Van's starting to leak precious fluids and it's a buyers market right now. So yea, that's what is new.

Quicky

That's right guys, just a quick one tonight since I got an early class in the morning.

First things first, a sequel to American McGee's Alice has been announced! Anyone who played the original should be stoked for this game, I know I am. It also looks like it will be coming out on the PS3 and 360 as well as the PC this time around, so you console gamers should be a little more excited. Even if you haven't played the original, I would recommend giving the new one a play-through, or even go back and play the original.

Moving on to music announcments, Green Day has announced the release date for their next album, 21st Century Breakdown. It will be coming out in May of this year, and we can only hope that they have returned to their punk-roots a little after the still-good but not great American Idiot.

Next up we have a band recommendation. I just recently discovered a band by the name of Spinnerette. A great band whose front-lady is the wife of Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age fame. It would seem that her husbands music has had a bit of an effect on her, as is easily noted in the song, Ghetto Love, which has an amazing music video done by Liam Lynch.
So if you are a fan of stoner-rock, definatly check out Spinnerette: http://www.spinnerettemusic.com/

I've got one last link to share with you before heading off to try and get some WoW in before bed. IGN recently went and listed 10 of the best punk drummers out there. Check it out here: http://music.ign.com/articles/951/951810p1.html

Well, that wound up being a little longer than expected, which is actually a good thing. Hopefully I will be able to keep up this blogging thing for a while this time.

Until next time,
GoldThane.

Revival of the Blog

That's right all you imaginary people who read my blog, I am back!
Please, restrain your excitement.
Even though I know that chances are no one will read this, I figure its good for me to write things, to ventilate my mind in a way, so that if what I plan on doing.

Interesting thing happened recently due to a funny little bug caused by World of Warcraft and Steam interacting. Steam attempted to launch the WoW launcher and apparently failed to properly do so, and thus kept trying. Again and Again. Apparently every time it tried and failed to open the launcher, it would make 'some' (most likely more than one judging by how many there were) temporary folders. This number quickly jumped up to several tens of thousands of folders, which gobbled up a great deal of space on my harddrive. I had no idea this happened until later, when my regular virus scan took several extra hours. Now I am currently attemping to remove all these folders, about a thousand at a time. Two words to describe this little incident; fun shit.

Now let us move on to something a little more joyful, video games! As all of you out there, which would be noone, know, I love video games, and the playing thereof. So, what have I been playing recently? Well, obviously I have gotten back into the highly addictive World of Warcraft. I have been playing Wrath of the Lich King and have by now gotten my Warrior main to 80, and have tanked a few 10-man raids. I enjoy the changes that Blizzard has made to protection warriors, as I am now able to tank more than 2 mobs efficiently. However I, like most people out there, have noticed how easy the raids are. Well, I supposed I will just have to move on to 25-man raids and hope they are a little more challanging. Ulduar is also coming soon, and promises to present more of a challange.

Enough about WoW, what else have I been playing? Penny Arcade Adventures, On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness. Wow, that is a....finger full? fist full perhaps, who knows. I just recently bought and beat the second part of this amazing game from the creators of one of the internet's best webcomics. Highly reccommended to all who like rpgs or humour.

I also recieved Persona 4 for christmas. I gotta say, this is a great game. Amazing gameplay with a intriguing, mysterious story. I am fully enjoy this game and really need to pry myself away from WoW and play more of it.

I am also (see, I really am a game geek!) waiting for Fallout 3 to go on sale on steam, and I know its coming, you hear my Valve? This game looks really interesting and unique in its gameplay and I have heard good things about it.

Lastly, during a Steam-wide sale, I finally broke down and bought Left 4 Dead, an amazing team-based zombie fps. A game that is truly at its best when played with friends. Unfortinatly I have only gotten to play it with my friends twice, as they have been busy playing Dawn of War 2, a game which i cannot play with them due to some odd Games for Windows Live related errors.

Anywho, I am finally done deleting those terrible temp files. I went from about 160GB of free room to 399GB, so yeaaaa, that is a nasty bug.

Well, I have rambled on enough for one day, perhaps tomorow I shall tlak about music.
